Quality
Assurance Report Analysts review every medical
report that is processed through operational
workflow. Areas of review include the following
questions:
| Have
all client issues been addressed? |
| Are
conclusions within the field of specialty
supported by documented objective findings? |
| Does
the report use appropriate medical/legal
terminology? |
| Have
requested disability issues and physical
restrictions been addressed? |
| Has
the report been scrutinized for consistency
and does it contain appropriate content? |
If the
medical specialist
has reached an inconclusive opinion
or has not addressed an important issue, the
Quality Assurance staff immediately contacts
the physician.
After the
Quality Assurance staff has reviewed a report
and it is ready for submission, the medical
report is sent directly to the carrier via courier,
mail, fax, or e-mail (depending on the carrier's
individual preference).
On a quarterly
basis, the Medical Quality Assurance Director
and the Vice President of Operations each randomly
select 50 IME reports and 25 Peer Reviews for
internal evaluation and an outside quality assurance
consultant reviews 50 reports.
